Kristin Petrou is the Director of the Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio. She began dancing at the age of 3. She trained locally and would travel around the United States to take instruction from a variety of Master Teachers and Choreographers such as Savion Glover, Henry LeTang, Judy Basing, Germaine Goodsen and Frank Hatchett among others.

By the age of 20, Mrs. Petrou won the Outstanding Choreographer of the Year award for her tap and jump rope routine, Jump. She has also helped her students win numerous dance awards, titles, medals and scholarships. She has choreographed shows off Broadway, for award winning cheerleading squads as well as performed in Las Vegas, the Poconos, in dinner theatres, production companies and cruise ships.

Besides her work at Tap 'n Arts, Mrs. Petrou is a stay-at-home Mother of three, Gianna, Stephen and Anthony.

Amber Boltz

Amber Boltz began dancing tap, jazz, ballet, and baton at the age of two. She is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School. She is a current student of Harrisburg Area Community College, working on her major in Studio Photography and minor in Business Management. In 1998, she won 1st place in the Shining Star dance competition, for her jazz solo. Her most memorable dance moment was the fun Monday night musical theatre classes. He taught us girls more than dance but responsibility, and that hard work pays off. She has been teaching Triple Threat for the past two years. This is her first year teaching Jazz and Ballet, and is very excited! Her most important rule for her classes is that the dancers have fun while dancing.

She is currently licensed to teach Zumba® Basic and plans to continue with more Zumba® licenses.

Laureen Ramos

Laureen Ramos grew up performing in musicals and plays along with singing in selected choral groups and performing solos. Besides training at the Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio when it first opened, she traveled around the United States taking instruction from a variety of Master Teachers and Choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Cris Judd, Dave Scott, Laurie Ann Gibson, Luam, and Napoleon D'Umo among others. Her education in Zumba® includes taking class from the creator himself, Beto along with other Zumba® Educational Specialists. She is currently licensed to teach Zumba® Basic, Zumba® Gold and Zumbatomic®. She plans to continue with more Zumba® licenses and also become AFAA certified.

Ms. Ramos has taken groups and solos to competitions and has returned with silvers and golds each time. She has choreographed wedding couple's first dances, audition solos and cheerleading solos. She formed a group combined of a local step team and our own dancers to mix the styles and perform offsite. Her most memorable dance moment was when she was watching her daughter compete who forgot her solo routine and made up her own dance on the spot, placing gold. Ms. Ramos has been teaching hip hop since 2002 and Zumba® since 2009.

Besides her work at Tap 'n Arts, she makes various performances and appearances for Hershey Entertainment and volunteers with Area M Adult Special Olympics.


Leah Booker

Leah Booker is the Pre-School Director of the Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio. She began dancing at the age of 3. Besides training at the Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio, she traveled around the United States taking instruction from a variety of Master Teachers and Choreographers.

Ms. Booker was a member of the original Tap 'n Arts dance competition team who won a variety of dance awards, titles and medals. Her competition team helped Mrs. Petrou win the Outstanding Choreographer of the Year award.

Ms. Booker attended Penn State University (PSU) for teaching and is currently the Director of the East Shore YMCA Child Care.


Leah Clouser

Leah Clouser began dancing ballet, tap and jazz at the age of 4. She is a competition veteran, winning numerous awards including High Score Overall for "All of this Past" during the Student Choreography category in 2003. Her most rewarding dance moment was seeing her very first student perform for the first time. She has been teaching dance for 7 years.

 


Megan Slyman

Megan Slyman began dancing tap, jazz, and ballet at the age of 8. She is a graduate of Penn State University and holds a Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in nursing. She competed with Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio for several years. Her most memorable dance moment was competing at West Coat Dance Explosion in an acapella tap number. She has been teaching tap for the past 3 years.


Sara Mills

Sara began dancing at Dance & Gym USA in Butler, PA. She is currently attending Penn State University with a major in Psychology. Her most memorable dance moment was dancing blind folded for a competition in Pittsburgh, PA. Her most memorable teaching experience occurred in the summer of 2010 where she had the opportunity to teach a 4-week dance intensive to high school students from around the world at Penn State University, State College, PA. She has taken dance instruction at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC, as well as the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. Sara has been teaching dance for the past three years with a main focus of jazz dancing.
