Join us for Excel in Motion, a dynamic dance convention designed to inspire, educate, and energize young dancers! Excel brings together some of today’s top industry professionals - artists who’ve performed at the Oscars, toured with major pop stars, choreographed for TV and film, graced Broadway stages, and captured America’s hearts on So You Think You Can Dance.

This unforgettable weekend offers students the chance to grow as dancers, performers, and individuals. With a variety of dance styles - jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, animation, and hip hop - there’s something for every passionate dancer. Each faculty member brings their own unique style and teaching philosophy, creating an exciting and enriching experience for all.

Convention Cost

  • Observer Band: $50 per person
    Perfect for parents and siblings (ages 5+). Gain access to the ballrooms to watch your dancer in action.
    Note: Dancing is not permitted with an Observer Band.
     
  • Newbie Band (Includes one Observer Band): $175 per person
    Beginner / Intermediate: 7 - 9 years
    Includes 4 hours of master classes and a potential performance in the closing ceremony. Great for dancers new to the convention scene.
     
  • Student Band (Full Program): $300 per person
    Participants are grouped by age and skill level (10–12, 13–15, 16+). Students will train with all Excel faculty throughout the weekend in their assigned level’s ballroom.

Important Information for Parents and Guardians
Please Note: All fees collected by Tap 'n Arts Dance Studio cover only the cost of registering for and participating in the Excel in Motion convention. Families are fully responsible for all additional expenses, including hotel accommodations, meals, transportation, and other personal costs. While Tap 'n Arts will be attending the event as a group, studio staff will not provide direct chaperoning. For safety and accountability, any dancer under the age of 18 should have a parent or responsible adult present or nearby for the duration of the event and weekend.
